Small Bites is a recurring feature that includes a round-up of news and notes from other media, both traditional and social. Today’s installment is all about local distilleries, which have been racking up the media coverage this week. Click on the links within each item for more. (We love tips, by the way! Send them here.)
- Food and Wine named Prohibition Distillery‘s Bootlegger 21 Vodka, made in Roscoe, one of its “Best American-Made Vodkas You’ve Never Heard Of,” calling it “smoother than a fresh jar of Skippy.”
- Prohibition also got some blog love from SheKnows, which published its list of top 10 distilleries in the U.S., calling out both the vodka and the gin at Prohibition, as well as the bourbon and rye from Gardiner’s Tuthilltown Spirits.
- The Village Voice also weighed in on the trend of Empire State distilling this week, crediting Tuthilltown with being a trendsetter and declaring that we are having a “Great New York Whiskey Boom.”
